Sporty’s Academy has already had 20 flight students pass checkrides during the month of August, making for a busy school, busy airport and busy flight instructors. With the university school year about to begin, enrollment in the University of Cincinnati’s Professional Pilot program continues to be strong too.
“Our students come from our local community as well as those who travel internationally to us and those who come for ‘finish up’. Since the introduction of these options, enrollment has remained strong,” says Sporty’s Academy President Eric Radtke.
Sporty’s Pilot Shop has noted this flight training uptick as well, with sales of its Learn to Fly courses at an all-time high.
“It’s too early to declare a trend,” says Radtke. “This is all anecdotal information at this point, but we’re quite pleased with such a strong interest in learning to fly, upgrading existing licenses and ratings, and choosing aviation as a career with demand for professional pilots continuing to grow.”
