Spring flying time is here – Time for Sporty’s Annual Fly In
Sporty’s Annual Fly In will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, where the welcome mat will be prominent for both local and transient pilots. Exhibits, seminars and display aircraft are all part of this annual event.
“And, of course, we have our signature event – free lunch for all,” says Sporty’s President Michael Wolf. “All attendees will receive free hot dogs at lunch time.”
Everything else about the Fly In is free as well – aircraft and car parking, admission, seminars, tours – once you arrive, the only money you’ll spend will be in Sporty’s retail store where special sales and one-day prices abound.
The exhibit hall holds dozens of industry displays – headsets, avionics, accessories – including new exhibitors Redbird, Pipistrel, Cirrus and Legend Cub. Sporty’s flight instructors will be on hand to offer introductory flights through Sporty’s Academy. Aviation Exploring, Cincinnati Avionics and the University of Cincinnati Professional Pilot Training Program will be represented in the exhibit hall.
Seminars on ADS-B, iPad flying and other current topics are offered all day, on site. In addition, seminars hosted by Foreflight, Garmin, Aspen Avionics, Bendix King and other manufacturers will draw curious pilots.
Did you win a new airplane?
At noon, the winner of Sporty’s 2015 Airplane Sweepstakes will be announced by Michael Wolf. This year, one lucky Sporty’s customer will win a Van’s RV-12.
“That’s the best phone call I make all year,” says Wolf. “Our Fly In guests and Sporty’s staff always enjoy hearing the mostly stunned reaction of the winner.”
Sporty’s 2015 Fly In will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information on Sporty’s Fly-In or directions to Sporty’s (via airplane or car), visit www.sportys.com/flyin.
