Your flight bag just got lighter due to the availability of the FAR/AIM as an app. You won’t have to lug that heavy book around with you anymore. Whatever regulation you need to review or clarify is now at your fingertips on your iPhone or iPad.
“Having the FAR/AIM on your phone or iPad is an inexpensive and convenient way to make sure you are always knowledgeable no matter where you are,” says Sporty’s Vice President John Zimmerman. “You can’t access the regs if your FAR/AIM book is in your hangar or on your desk.”
The FAR/AIM app has additional advanced features making it easier to find information. You can highlight and bookmark passages for quick retrieval or you can study content based on your current flight training. For example a private pilot working on an instrument rating can filter the regulations and content applicable to flying IFR. You can also use the search feature for an instant response.
“Instead of aimlessly flipping through pages looking for an obscure regulation, you can now easily search all the content in both the FARs and AIM to quickly find what you’re looking for,” says Zimmerman.
